Cupcakes are made many different ways. Among us we find that many people have an ancestor, great grandmother, friend or other such person who knows someone who knows someone who knows how to create the best cupcake you will ever have in your life. How are these cupcakes deemed more superior than the lesser less exalted cupcakes in our midst? The differential factors lie in choosing extra special ingredients.

A cupcakes final outcome is truly dependent on the care and quality of the ingredients that are put into it. Some may think a cupcake is a cupcake. But they will not argue that there is a huge difference between homemade hamburgers versus McDonald 99 cent burgers. There is just an essential difference, bottom line.

Some boutique bakeries will go the extra mile and spend about eighty dollars on a bottle of vanilla essence whereas the average corner store mom n pop bakery shop will spend ninety-five cents and wonder why their cupcakes dont have that extra special quality taste. The fine ingredients are created differently, grown with extra care, refined in a special manner. It is the difference between drinking a one hundred dollar bottle of champagne versus the five dollar liquor store special. Again, these perfecting touches just create a different palpable effect. These champagnes can be priced higher because alcohol connoisseurs can taste the difference. Such is the case for a finely crafted cupcake. I say crafted because with the extra special care that goes into these dessert treats, they become an art piece. They become someones hard invested masterpiece.

The special ingredients do not stop with such finds as bottles of perfected vanilla essence. Every ingredient is a perfected, addition, something that has been created and cultivated with the greatest care. For example, there are different quality levels of chocolate, frosting, sugars, eggs, and other such ingredients that make up the ultimate cupcake mixture. Even the actual cooking, stirring and process of making these special cupcakes can be learned in a manner that will bring out the greatest qualities in the treat.

These ingredients might in the overall end result make the price tag of a cupcake well over the typical cupcake price, but that is why they are special. Most people on average do not buy a celebratory bottle of champagne everyday, much less every week. But, when the occasion affords it, many people will treat themselves because they know they are paying for quality. Such can be the same for these extraordinary cupcakes. Maybe ones son or daughter loves cupcakes and they just graduated from college with honors, why not opt for a cupcake delicacy instead of a cake to surprise and congratulate them?

For the affluent population, this can be the perfect dessert treat they have been looking for. Their wine cellars are already stocked with the best bottles of champagne and wine. Their garages filled with the latest vehicles of their dreams, why not top off their success with an extraordinary dessert treat!

linwoods goji berriesWe Need to Feed the World; So Why do Environmentalists Attack GMO Foods?

Have you ever considered that right now there is a huge food shortage for helping the Third World Nations and the deficit is getting bigger, not only due to more mouths to feed and transportation costs, but because there really is a food shortage. Recently this was discussed in our Online Think Tank.

A student graduating from the University of Colorado noted that WFP or World Food Program, like the UN and other major NGOs had a food shortage and she willfully donated her $10 monthly monies to the cause. The issues are indeed the dire. We need GM Foods to feed the Third World. GM Foods have less spoilage in shipping and greater yields in the fields. Without this edge; can we still feed the World?

After all we need to Feed the World; so why do Environmentalists attack GMO Foods? Well they believe that they are; unnatural, minimally nutritious and some studies have tried to link some GMO foods to various diseases.

Some people will not eat GM Foods and the EU will not allow them to be sold. Some fair criticism has been issued and that is that we do not know the full results of GM Crops yet and therefore we need to know more before we start feeding them to the world. Yes, but if we wait and the food shortages grow more people (humans) will indeed starve to death, which is not a good thing.

So our Online Think Tank has been debating both sides of this issue rather vigorously, do we let people starve today to save them from a possibly potential eventuality some time in the far off future? I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought. The goal is simple; to help you in your quest to be the best in 2007. I thank you for reading my many articles on diverse subjects, which interest you.

Healthy Eating Habits

I believe good health is the most important thing in life - because it gives you freedom. Freedom to pursue your dreams and do all the things that poor health won't permit. Any significant health problem, chronic or acute, will bring your life balance out of order. Not just your own bodily balance but everything and anybody you normally interact with will be affected. Many of your relationships and activities will suffer in some way.

I think anybody who seriously tried living healthier through a better diet, proper physical activity, adequate rest, and by addressing mental and spiritual factors have experienced a vast range of natural health benefits. Common benefits are overall better health and a sense of well being, better sleep, improved physical endurance and strength, sharper mental abilities and lower sleep requirements.

What constitutes a healthy diet?

Unfortunately, there are more opinions about this than there are health experts. To further complicate the matter, dietary concepts change over time, leaving most people confused and uncertain about what or whom to trust. Along with personal experimentation, such approach will enable you to establish proper eating habits that work especially well for your body. This takes time and energy, but considering the long lasting benefits a healthy diet can provide, the effort is more then well worth it. For 99.9% of human existence, our species lived on foods that were either raw or minimally processed. The technology needed to increase food processing did not exist until very recently. It is therefore reasonable to assume that our bodies are best adapted at utilizing and dealing with the raw or minimally processed foods which sustained us, and our predecessors, for millions of years: fruits, vegetables, meats, nuts and seeds. A good diet is based on natural, whole or minimally processed foods.

A large portion of it should consist of foods that can be eaten raw, such as fruits and vegetables. Fermented or cultured, unpasteurized foods such as kefir, yogurt, cheeses, miso, sauerkraut and pickles are considered highly beneficial in many cultures. Cooking should be minimal and only applied to foods that must be cooked in order to be edible. Ancestral heritage also plays an important role as certain foods may need to be excluded or emphasized. Maintaining healthy routined diet can make enormous improvements to ones health, it's only one essential part of healthy living. The other parts are proper and adeqaute physical activity, mental and spiritual well being, and adequate rest. All need to be addressed in order to achieve better health. An important thing I learned while experimenting with diets and other health related approaches is to always pay attention to the signals from the body. It's essential to do this - in order to maintain good health - and adjust accordingly. As one gets better at reading the body, it becomes natural to self diagnose a lot of minor problems (which can become major if not paid attention to) and remedy them by simply adjusting the diet or other aspects of life. Finally, we are all different - what works for one person may not work for another - thus it's important to learn about and experiment with nutrition to find out what works and what does not.
